When are membership dues paid?

ALPOA membership begins May 1 and ends April 30. Membership dues are paid by May 1 each year.

What is the advantage of membership?

ALPOA meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. on the Sundays of Memorial Day and Labor Day holiday weekend. Every effort is made to keep the meetings to one hour long.

When are the elections of officers?

Elections take place at the May meeting. Officers are elected to two-year terms.

If I can't attend the May meeting, can I still vote for the candidates running for ALPOA office?

The most recent bylaws were adopted in 2023 and describe the process for a member to vote absentee. You must be a current member to vote and run for office. Potential officers must make their candidacy known by the last Saturday in April of an election year. If any office is contested, absentee ballots will be mailed. They must be completed and returned by the Wednesday before the May meeting date.

How can I help the ALPOA?

You can join the association if you don't yet belong. You can volunteer for a committee or help with a project. You can also seek an office. We offer many opportunities for volunteers to help out at our events. Volunteers power all the lake's events and activities.

Whether you are new to the lake and the association or have enjoyed AuSable Lake for years, we would love to hear from you if you think you'd like to get more involved. The ALPOA board and committees work year-round to plan events and activities.

If you enjoy volunteering and love AuSable Lake, please think about getting involved on one of our committees and possibly serving on the board.

What does ALPOA do for fun?

The ALPOA plans events each summer including a pontoon boat parade, cornhole tournaments, and member mixers at local restaurants. The ALPOA officers are open to suggestions and help acting on new activities.
